The slow conscious movements in Qigong/Tai Chi are designed to rotate and open our joints and stretch the meridian channels in our bodies allowing the life energy (chi) to flow through the body without blockage. The breathing technique in Qigong/Tai Chi helps strengthen this energy and at the same time stimulates our para-sympathetic nervous system, enabling us to find a deep state of relaxation.  Through the movements and breath work we learn to let go of residual unnoticed tension that we are constantly carrying. It helps us to let go of physical tension, mental tension, emotional tension and even energetic tension.

The positive health effects of Qigong/Tai Chi have been repeatedly proven by renowned medical research institutes such as Harvard Medical School. Doctors from Harvard University confirm that the mindful, fluid and gentle movements are one of the healthiest leisure activities of all. Studies show that this improves balance, general fitness level and mobility. Regular Qigong/Tai Chi practice reduces the risk of falls for older people, reduces pain and inflammation in a wide variety of diseases, can prevent and alleviate depressive moods, fears and sleep problems, has a general stress-reducing effect, can lower blood pressure and improve the immune system. The list of positive effects is very long and new studies are constantly demonstrating further health benefits.
